We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new theatre course, coming this October! – Come and perform Persephone with us at the end of the month!!

We have been awarded a grant from Arts Council England, which means that we will spend December and early January visiting a number of hospitals, cancer centres, and care homes around London with our acclaimed production of A Christmas Carol! Among the institutions we are visiting are Charing Cross Hospital, the Teenage Cancer Trust, the Royal Variety Charity’s Brinsworth House, and our very own FiSH/AgeUK, here in Barnes.
Charity work is a huge part of Shadow Road’s mission and we are thrilled to be able to bring Christmas magic to so many this festive season.

In the run up to Halloween, we will be bringing a specially abridged version of the Scottish Play to the wonderful Southside House, where the old stone and warm candlelight will enhance the spooky atmosphere.

Submissions are now open for the 2020 UNBROKEN Short Film Prize!
Due to Covid-19, the May festival and the film submissions deadline were postponed. We are hoping to present a much-reduced programme, including the film screening and awards, in October, around World Mental Health Day. Keep an eye on this page and the UNBROKEN website for more details…
AUGUST

After a year in which theatre has been all too thin on the ground, we are thrilled to get back in front of an audience this August! Not only will we be reprising two of Fireside Folktales’ hugely popular productions – the spellbinding myth Persephone & the Pomegranate Seeds and children’s favourite Aesop’s Fables – but we will also be premiering our powerful new adaptation of Macbeth!
These productions will be staged in a beautiful private garden in Barnes, South West London – the precise address of which will be sent with your purchased ticket. In order to ensure that social distancing guidelines are adhered to, ticket numbers will be limited and audience members seated in household groups, each an appropriate distance from any others.
Performances are due to run from Thursday 20th to Wednesday 26th August. For more information on the specific programme and performance times etc, click here.

We were delighted to launch our sell-out winter production – Artistic Director Emma King-Farlow’s inventive adaptation of Charles Dickens’s festive classic A Christmas Carol – with two previews at the lovely The Coach & Horses in Barnes, followed by a special, candlelit performance at the remarkable Southside House in Wimbledon.
We were then privileged to visit a number of cancer support centres and care homes, including The Mulberry Centre, Teenage Cancer Trust and Brinsworth House, to stage some voluntary performances for patients and their families in December 2019 and January 2020 – something we plan to do again next Christmas!
