While the majority of our shows each have their own dedicated page including several reviews and pieces of audience feedback for that particular production, we have also collected a selection for you to read and enjoy here, together with several testimonials from venues, charities and other partners we have been privileged to work with over the years.

Working with Shadow Road was a very exciting experience, especially as we’d not organised a theatrical production here at London Wetland Centre before. So we were delighted when Emma King-Farlow wrote bespoke productions for us, both for our St George’s Day activities and Robin Hood. She managed to use the unique nature of the Centre to maximise its potential for both plays. Although it was very hard work for both parties managing the events, Shadow Road were always extremely professional and the end productions were thrilling – our visitors loved them!

Emma and the team have been great to work with, always ready to talk through ideas, and understanding of our needs and restrictions working in sensitive locations. Their creative ideas really help our place shine.

Dreams from the Pit had the audience spellbound. It was an emotional rollercoaster and, from what I could tell, very much appreciated. This was a huge undertaking, most professionally executed. Thank you for doing it to support us. It did a lot of good and got the word out to a new audience.

We asked Emma to direct the most challenging production we have ever undertaken, Jesus Christ Superstar. Once she decided she was going to take on the challenge, Emma stuck with it and successfully overcame all obstacles with a professional, personable and graceful attitude. The use of the church, lighting, interpretation of the storylines, costumes – it all came together in a remarkable show, which everyone loved to be part of and was proud to have engaged with. The Barnes Community Players put their trust in Emma’s ability and we were not disappointed. She ‘gets the job done’ with grace, integrity and efficiency, creating a remarkable show. I would would recommend Emma without hesitation.

It was a pleasure to host A Christmas Carol performances by Shadow Road Productions. The actors completely transformed the day spaces in terms of décor and the performance, bringing a Christmas spirit to those receiving care and working during the festive period.
The performances captivated patients and hospital staff, providing a positive distraction from the clinical environment, creating a sense of community and sparked conversation. ‘Thank you for all that you are doing, it makes such a difference’ one hospital staff member commented and several echoed.
A month later I visited a patient in hospital who had attended one of the performances and she brought up the performance speaking fondly about it and that it was ‘very well done’.
With the duration of the performance, factoring in a break half way through worked well, as well as timing the visits before and after meal times. We would be delighted to host the performance again next year.
Thank you to all at Shadow Road Productions!

Having taken a Visitors’ Book to all of our Fireside Folktales performances, we are lucky enough to have more positive feedback than we can share here! You can read some of it on each of our individual production pages – to find all of our Fireside Folktales’ plays visit here.
In the meantime, here is a small selection of the reactions we recorded from our very first performances at the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival, 11th-12th May 2019:
While part of our Fireside Folktales collection we couldn’t not give A Christmas Carol it’s own section on our reviews page. We call it our “acclaimed” production for a reason. It has been our joy to bring this show to various properties, including Southside House, National Trust locations, St Mary’s, the Coach & Horses and a number of charity performances at care homes, cancer centres, and a treatment ward.
If you would like to book A Christmas Carol for your own private event, or would like to speak to us about bringing it to a charity location please email us at: shadowroadproductions@gmx.com
While we couldn’t fit all of our reviews here, here are a few of our favourite:
