“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”
Oscar Wilde (1854 – 1900)

Ongoing productions - Fireside Folktales

An ongoing project, Fireside Folktales sees us retelling a growing collection of myths, legends, and classic stories from around the world. Each is presented as an original short play performed by a company of four actors. In keeping with the back-to-basics philosophy of this particular storytelling project, all music and sound effects are performed live by the cast, with no electricity or technical equipment necessary.

Click on the titles below for more information and visit our News and Diaries page to find out when and where we’ll be performing next!

These collection of plays are also available for private bookings – for more information please visit our Fireside Folktales page.

Reviews & Testimonials

We have received glowing feedback from our audience members, venues we’ve visited and people we’ve partnered with.

As well as performances we also offers workshops, team building, theatrical and writing courses!

Workshops & Team Building

We offer several creative and educational workshops, some of which are designed to enhance or expand upon your experience of watching certain of our productions, for example the general Macbeth or Secret Storytellers workshops (mentioned on each of their specific pages). Others can either be presented as part of a longer visit, together with any production of your choice, or as standalone events and team-building exercises.

If you are unsure which option to go for, please get in touch and we will be happy to advise.  Prices vary, depending on the specific workshops chosen, whether or not they are booked as part of a larger package, and the number of participants etc. Each enquiry therefore results in an individual quotation, with discounts offered for school visits.

Current courses

Alongside our workshops, we also offer longer courses, particularly Performing Persephone, which can be presented in different formats, depending on what works best for you and/or your group.

In either five evenings (6.30pm-9.30pm each day) or two days (10am-5.30pm), we will guide you through the rehearsal process for our one-act play Persephone & the Pomegranate Seeds (a retelling of the classic Greek myth), from beginning to end.  All costumes and props will be provided, and the rehearsal process will include everything from the initial readthrough and working through the text together, to sessions focusing on character, a basic introduction to stage combat, a dress rehearsal, and a final production that you can invite your friends and family to!
